Job Purpose: The Certification Engineer will be part of the Chemical team who have a responsibility for all certification and approval aspects associated with manufacturing. The role is a full time permanent position based in Co Cavan; there will be travel required to manufacturing facilities throughout the Western Europe Division. Occasional travel will be required to witness panel production and tests, and to attend factory audits, trade fairs and conferences. Core Activities: Manage approval and on-going certification of products to UK, European, ISO, ASTM, NFPA and other international standards. Prepare Submittals for fire approvals of the products. Manage third party testing of the products through various UK and global test bodies. Maintain understanding of industry and upcoming standards, legislation and certification changes, whilst making recommendations to ensure new and existing products are compliant with European and worldwide requirements. Manage compliance of in house testing within the labs. Conduct and manage on line witnessing in support of approvals. Produce detailed project test reports. Support the Chemical team as needed. Essential Knowledge/Skills/Key Characteristics. Level 8 B.Sc. or B.Eng. degree in chemical/Polymer/Mechanical/Production Engineering or similar discipline. Good communication skills, verbal and written. PC literate. Ability to work unsupervised both individually and as part of a team. Proactive approach to meeting demanding deadlines.
