Here at RT Lane Recruitment we are seeking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager for our Client in their food Ingredients plant. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will be responsible for leading, directing and delivering all activity in relation to their safety agenda. Key Responsibilities Planning, implementation & review of a suitable Health & Safety system across the site. Establish a series of effective H&S KPIs for the site. Update and maintain Health and Safety procedures and the Site Safety Statement in compliance with Regulatory requirements. Organise and co-ordinate a site approach to the risk assessment programme, identifying and quantifying existing and all potential new hazards, and developing and implementing appropriate controls. Accident Management – work with site management to ensure a robust process is established which includes incident investigation, identification and implementation of all corrective actions and effective preventative programs. Provide technical support regarding the Company’s H&S management system, legislation updates, and other technical advice e.g. chemical handling. Provide a robust process around Induction, Refresher and Manual Handling Training as required. Ensure that safety audits are carried out through out the site in conjunction with the Site Management team. Work closely with Site management team to deliver robust safety procedures through out the plant. Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Authority (HSA) legislation and any developments that affect the industry. Role Requirements 3rd Level education in Health and Safety or related discipline is essential, member of IOSH preferable. A minimum of 8 years’ experience at H&S Manager level within an FMCG manufacturing environment, ideally food manufacturing. Proven success and experience of implementing safety systems & programmes. Strong inter-personal skills: excellent communication skills, strong relationship builder, good influencing and negotiation skills and ability to coach. Experience in leading and carrying out Risk Assessment. Knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 systems.
