What you need to know. You will work as a Purchasing and Warehouse Manager to be based in Co. Cavan. A well-established manufacturing company, our client drives innovation in their field and are looking to recruit a Purchasing and Warehouse Manager . As the Purchasing and Warehouse Manager you will work as part of the management team by directing, managing and co-ordinating all activities associated within the logistics department. This is a permanent job. Your new job. Monitor the service and performance of suppliers, customs brokers and forwarders to ensure performance in line with contracted KPI's. Assist to negotiate ocean freight carrier contracts to reduce freight cost. Lead & consolidate logistics and procurement functions to drive for optimization and efficiency. Responsible for securing continuous improvement in supplier performance. Establish, implement and refine logistic work procedures in accordance with the company policies & procedures. Ensure a high level of compliance with customs and other government agencies. Responsible for manufacturer production to PO delivery requirements. Ensure the accuracy of all internal shipping documents to clear import ports without delay. Responsible to maximize container configuration to reduce ocean shipping cost. Day to day management of the service and performance of suppliers, customs brokers and forwarders to ensure performance in line with contracted KPI's. Responsible for and manage PO, expediting, change order, shipping and payment. Responsible for securing continuous improvement in supplier performance. Implement logistics strategy. Supervise Staff in purchasing, stores and charge hand. To perform all other work as and when assigned. Education / Experience: Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a proven track record within materials/supply chain logistics functions within a high volume manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a senior supply chain role in a fast paced environment. Experience in supervising or managing a team.Demonstrated people management skills, a strong team builder with excellent strategic perspective who possesses strong influencing skills. Excellent systems expertise particularly in SAP. Must have a flexible approach to work and be capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and excellent organizational and communication skills. Excellent co-ordination and project management skills.
