Overview of role: A company based in the North East Area is seeking a Technical Manager to join their team on Contract basis. Responsibilities: The Technical Manager manages the Technical and quality team, ensuring a robust system for food safety is practiced throughout the business, both in manufacturing and retail outlets. The longer term technical strategy is managed to ensure that product is continued to be produced and retailed in accordance with requirements and that the business reputation is protected. Proven track record developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems understanding the requirements for both manufacturing facilities and retail outlets. Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and customer requirements, ensuring that all requirements are embedded within standard operating procedures. Experience managing a team, providing clear direction, encouragement, goals and expectations to all team members whilst empowering them to succeed in their roles. Delivery of training in relation to food hygiene and safety matters to all relevant personnel. Demonstrates a desire to question processes and efficiency and to seek change. Provide technical leadership to the business and works as a constructive team member and team leader. Experience managing third party audits and customer technical visits and resolution of any actions arising. Ability to build relationships with key suppliers, customers, service providers and regulatory bodies. Demonstrates relevant IT literacy- a knowledge of all Microsoft applications. Required / Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Proven track record of achievement in a quality/technical managerial role. 5 years experience within food manufacturing environment.
